Connector Documentation

Hi all,

John I know you are probably very busy with the next release of SOPAC2, but I was curious if you had any kind of time frame in mind for releasing the Connector documentation?

I am new to Drupal, but I feel like I might be able to possibly contribute to the project from a Sirsi/Dynix Horizon perspective if I understood more about how the Locum wrappers worked.

Thanks,
Eric

Eric, I've just begun to work on it--I'm having to prioritize a lot of things right now, but I should have a working set of developer docs very soon.

Thanks. Looking forward to it when you do get a moment.

I'm also interested in a Sirsi/Dynix Horizon connection and would be willing to contribute.

Hi,

Newbie to SOPAC (although have experience of Drupal)...

Would be really interested in some more detailed documentation on building a connector, but can't seem to find any. Looking to build a connector to the 'ALEPH X-Server' service.

Thanks
Andy

I can second this - it would be great to know even in general how the connector is working. Other than looking at the other (two?) connectors available there doesn't seem to be any way of knowing how to set this up.

I'm happy to help clean up or write documentation once I've got a better understanding of how it all works together.

[edit] I just found this, a basic start to the documentation: http://thesocialopac.net/documentation/connector_guide [/edit]

You're absolutely right--there is basically no documentation on writing a connector and that is my fault--primarily because I've been working on the code itself. Give me a few days and I'll flesh it out to something usable. Though I'll probably write it with 2.1 in mind, as a release candidate is forthcoming.

Sounds great John, I appreciate your response as I'm sure you're very busy!

For other people who might come across this thread I also found http://thesocialopac.net/node/48 promising, regarding a Sirsi connector.

I saw you posted some documentation John, looks marvellous and even though it's still marked as incomplete it is much better than what was there previously :)

Thank you!

Getting there slowly. Since 2.1 is in development right now, I make make some changes, so keep checking back.
